Yerry Mina was favorites of many clubs in this transfer window. But Everton decided to put an end to one of the long-running transfer sagas by signing Mina from the Catalan side. The toffees bought the Barcelona star in a 30 million euro deal.
23-year-old defender chooses a move to Everton
Mina, who played some remarkable football in the France world cup, has been heavily linked to several clubs. Everton who has to build a solid squad this summer will be a team to watch this season. Reports claim that manchester united and Lyon were also in the race for signing Mina. However, in the end, Everton was lucky enough to hold the last laugh by signing him. Yerry mina, the 23-year-old defender chooses a move to Merseyside club from camp now.
Mina did not experience much football with the Catalan club, joining this January he only featured in six games for the Catalan side. This has made the Catalan club to put a buy back clause on the deal.
Andre Gomes on loan to Everton
With the likes of Mina, Everton also signed Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes on long loan. The Toffees will pay fees of 2.25 million Euros for the duration of Gomez staying at the club. The Portuguese star left Valencia in 2015 to join the Catalan side. However recently he fell out of favor and couldn’t make his place in the first team. Gomez now decided to leave camp now and move to Everton where he could start regularly in the first team.
He followed the footsteps of Digne and Mina to join the Merseyside, becoming the third player to join the Merseyside from the Catalan side. They will begin their campaign by facing wolves at the Molineux stadium tomorrow.
